Amy
Practice Administrator 

 

For the past five years, I have had the privilege of serving as the Practice Administrator at Quality Dentistry. What I love most about my role is the opportunity to connect with our patients and help make their dental experience as comfortable, positive, and stress-free as possible.

I especially enjoy helping patients navigate the often-confusing world of dental insurance. Understanding benefits, treatment costs, and financial options can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I take pride in helping patients make sense of it all so they can feel informed and confident about their care.

My background in psychology has also become an important part of the way I care for our patients. I have always been drawn to helping people who experience anxiety or fear surrounding dental treatment. I enjoy using my education and understanding of human behavior to listen to patients, understand their concerns, and help them feel more comfortable and supported. Sometimes, simply having someone who takes the time to listen can make all the difference.

One of the things I treasure most about working at Quality Dentistry is our patients. We truly have the most wonderful patients, and I genuinely look forward to coming to work each day and seeing the familiar faces who have become such an important part of our practice family. Building those relationships and being able to share in our patients’ experiences over the years is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

Life Outside the Office

Outside of work, my greatest joy and accomplishment is being a mom. My husband and I have six children, and they are  our greatest blessing. Our family life is wonderfully busy, and we cherish every opportunity to spend time together.

My husband and I were high school sweetheart  and have been married for 28 years, We feel incredibly fortunate to have shared such an amazing journey together. Over the years, our family has created countless memories through family gatherings, game nights, adventures, and travel.

Whether we are exploring somewhere new, playing games around the table, or simply enjoying time together, my favorite moments are the ones spent with my family. They are at the heart of who I am, and I feel incredibly grateful for the life we have built together.

I feel equally fortunate to have a career that allows me to combine my love of people, my background in psychology, and my passion for helping others. Every day, I have the opportunity to make someone's experience a little easier—and I never take that privilege for granted.

I have been part of the dental profession for more than 30 years, and I continue to find great fulfillment in the work I do. what I enjoy most about dentistr is the positive impact quality dental care can have on a person's life - from improving overall health and relieving pain to restoring confidence and self-esteem. 

My goal is to build lasting relationships with each of my patients by taking the time to get to know them, understand their individual needs, and discover how I can best help them. I believe that truly exceptional care begins with listening, building trust, and treating each patient as an individual.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially my children and grandchildren. I also love being around their dogs and cats, who have become an important part of our family gatherings. I have a particular soft spot for them—and, admittedly, I have a tendency to give them a few too many treats!

Julie - Lakewood Office
Front Office Administrator / Treatment Coordinator - Lakewood

I began my career in dentistry as a dental assistant, where I spent six years working in San Diego. Over the years, I transitioned into the front office, where I discovered how much I enjoy connecting with patients and building relationships that extend beyond their visits.

Creating a warm, welcoming, and positive experience for every patient is something I take great pride in. I enjoy getting to know our patients, helping them feel comfortable and cared for, and being part of a team that makes a meaningful difference in their experience.

 

Outside of the office, I enjoy gardening, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family. One of my favorite traditions is our weekly board game night. We’ve collected more than 200 games over the years, so there is always something new to play! It’s one of my favorite ways to relax, laugh, and enjoy time with the people I love.

Although I am relatively new to the dental profession, I bring five years of experience in public health research, with a focus on disease and injury prevention. Much of my work centered on health policy, giving me a strong understanding of the challenges people can face when accessing care. I now bring that perspective to my role in helping patients navigate the complexities of dental insurance.

I work closely with both our patients and providers to help make insurance benefits and coverage easier to understand. My goal is to provide clear, thoughtful guidance so patients know what to expect from their benefits and can make informed decisions about their care. At Quality Dentistry, our patient-centered approach is at the heart of everything we do, and I believe insurance coordination is about much more than paperwork—it’s about helping remove barriers to the dental care patients need.

 

Outside of work, I’m an avid reader and love hosting game nights, murder mystery parties, and watch parties with friends and family. I’m always up for an opportunity to get out on the water for some paddleboarding, and I especially enjoy weekend adventures with my wife and our pup.

Patient Care Coordinator

 

I began my career in dentistry as a dental assistant, where I spent 12 years gaining valuable experience in patient care and developing a deep appreciation for the dental profession. Working directly with patients gave me the opportunity to understand their concerns, answer questions, and see firsthand how important a comfortable and positive dental experience can be.

As my career progressed, I wanted to broaden my knowledge and gain a greater understanding of the business and administrative side of dentistry. When the opportunity arose to transition into the front office, I embraced the change and quickly discovered how much I enjoy this side of patient care as well.

Today, I enjoy all aspects of my role at the front desk. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping patients understand their recommended treatment, navigate their insurance benefits, and make sense of their financial responsibilities. Dental treatment can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I believe patients deserve clear, honest information and someone who is willing to take the time to answer their questions.

My experience as a dental assistant also gives me a unique perspective when helping patients navigate their care. I understand both the clinical and administrative sides of dentistry, which allows me to help connect the two and make the overall experience as seamless as possible. My goal is always to make patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident in the care they receive.

I truly enjoy getting to know our patients and building relationships with them over time. Being part of their dental journey and knowing that I’ve helped make their experience a little easier is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.

Outside of the office, I love spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy getting outdoors, especially hiking and beachcombing, where I can slow down, explore, and enjoy the beauty around me. And, of course, I love spending time with my dog, who receives more than his fair share of attention and affection!

 

For me, dentistry has always been about people. Whether I’m helping a patient understand their treatment, answering an insurance question, or simply welcoming them when they arrive, I want every patient to feel that they are valued, heard, and genuinely cared for.

My passion for dentistry began when I was just six years old, and that early interest has grown into a rewarding career dedicated to caring for others. I spent ten years working as a dental assistant before graduating from Seattle Central College in 2022 as a Registered Dental Hygienist.

I have a genuine passion for serving others and making a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients and in my community. I believe exceptional dental care is about more than maintaining healthy teeth—it is about educating, encouraging, and empowering patients to feel confident in their oral health.

I especially enjoy building relationships with my patients and helping them understand the connection between their oral health and overall well-being. I provide individualized periodontal care, including routine preventive cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and deep cleanings, always with a focus on comfort, education, and long-term health.

I also value being part of a supportive and compassionate team. I believe that excellent patient care begins with people who genuinely care about one another, and I strive to bring leadership, teamwork, kindness, and consideration to both my patients and my coworkers.

 

Outside of the office, I enjoy traveling, swimming, and taking time to relax and recharge. My faith and community are also an important part of my life. I am actively involved in my church, where I have the privilege of serving as both secretary and treasurer. 

 

I graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2010 and was fortunate to begin my career part-time in a pediatric dental practice. It was there that I discovered my passion for restorative dentistry and for creating dental experiences that feel comfortable, positive, and stress-free.

As a restorative dental hygienist, I enjoy helping patients feel confident in their care and their smiles. I combine attention to detail with a warm and reassuring approach, taking the time to listen to each patient, explain their care, and make sure they feel comfortable every step of the way.

One of the things I love most about restorative dentistry is the balance of precision and personal connection. Working alongside our dental team, I’m able to help patients restore both the health and appearance of their smiles while keeping their comfort a priority. I believe that sometimes simply taking the time to listen and answer questions can make all the difference in a patient’s experience.

Being part of a caring and collaborative team is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I’m grateful to be part of Quality Dentistry and strive to bring kindness, patience, and thoughtful care to every appointment.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. We especially love exploring new places and experiencing different cultures—and we often prefer to leave the itinerary open and see where the adventure takes us!

I believe in delivering patient-centered care that prioritizes prevention and empowers individuals with the knowledge and confidence they need to maintain lifelong oral health. As a recent graduate of Pierce College, I am excited to begin my career in dentistry and use my education and skills to support patients in achieving their unique oral health goals.

As a member of the Lakewood and Steilacoom communities, I am passionate about serving the people who call this area home. My goal is to meet each patient where they are in their dental journey—whether that means restoring their oral health, maintaining a healthy smile, or simply taking the first step toward creating a new goal. I strive to make every patient feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their care.

Outside of the office, I enjoy playing cozy video games, making bracelets, attending concerts, and spending quality time with my boyfriend and our three cats. Feel free to ask me about whatever wild shenanigans my cats have gotten into lately!

I have been a dental assistant for more than 35 years, and I continue to find great joy in caring for our patients. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping patients feel comfortable, reassured, and confident throughout their dental experience. I especially enjoy easing fears and creating a welcoming environment where patients feel genuinely cared for. Seeing a patient leave with a smile is one of the best parts of what I do.

Over the years, I’ve learned that compassionate care often comes down to the little things—taking the time to listen, offering reassurance, and helping each patient feel at ease. I’m proud to be part of a team that values both exceptional dentistry and the people we are privileged to serve.

Outside of the office, I enjoy gardening, watching baseball, and spending time with family and friends. One of my favorite things is traveling to Arizona with my granddaughter, Avery. I also love spending time with my longtime partner, Jason, whether we’re watching sports, enjoying the outdoors, or gathering with family.

 

The time I spend with the people I love is what I treasure most, and I feel very fortunate to have a life filled with family, friendship, and plenty of special memories.

My career in dentistry is just beginning, and I am excited to be building my future in a field that allows me to serve and give back to my community. I graduated from Clover Park Technical College in 2024 with an Associate degree in Dental Assisting, becoming the first person in my family to enter the dental field.

I am currently studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Washington Tacoma, with the goal of continuing my education and becoming a dentist. I am passionate about learning and growing within dentistry, and I am grateful for the opportunity to gain experience while helping patients feel comfortable and cared for.

 

Outside of work and school, I enjoy watching sports, spending time with my girlfriend, and playing games with my friends. I also love all kinds of music, so you may occasionally hear me singing around the office! I am incredibly thankful to be part of the wonderful team at Quality Dentistry and look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and serve our patients.
